AYURVEDA - SCIENCE OF LIFE
In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “The Science of Life.” Ayurvedic knowledge originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is often called the “Mother of All Healing”. Ayurveda believes that the healing starts from within and according to the principles of Ayurvedic theory, everyone is made of a combination of five elements: air, water, fire, earth, and space. These elements combine in the body to form three energies or life forces that govern our inner and outer environments: movement, transformation, and structure known in Sanskrit as doshas: Vata (Wind), Pitta(Fire), and Kapha (Earth).
Yoga is a sister science of Ayurveda and it is prescribed to balance the doshas and calm the mind. With these principles in mind Ayur-Shilpi (Ayur is a Sanskrit term meaning “life” or “vital power” and Shilpi is an artisan) has programs which combines Ayurveda, Yoga principles and meditation techniques to balance body and mind for a healthy mind, body and spiritual healing.
